cock up, dish out, wrap up

The rowing captain sent us an email:

  1. apparently the delivery men just cocked up — mess up, f**k up [urban dict]
  2. I can dish it (rowing kit) out at the boathouse tomorrow — To dispense freely [dict]
  3. Sleep well, eat well, wrap up well, row well … — to dress warmly [usingenglish]

    So Hao, I think you might be better off avoiding using the word ‘f*ck’ when posting. It may be interpreted as offensive and unprofessional by some.

    A common use is He can dish it out but he can’t take it.

    You would definitely want to avoid using the expression cock up in the U.S. where it would not be understood and where it would be regarded as a vulgarism.

    Same with the Singlish (Singaporean English) talk cockto talk rubbish or nonsense.
